FINAL COLLECTION OF PHOTOS
I enjoyed capturing all the photos for this project as it has broadened my knowledge of both digital and analogue photography. With the collection of photos I captured it is a mix of both using a studio along with various other locations. The studio photos were great, I made use of most equipment available and experimented the use of gels with my photos. I loved the results, using the gels I was able to paint the studios white walls with vibrant colours. Some of the photos that were captured with a lower shutter speed created a unique effect warping part of the image.
Apart from the studio photos, I captured the rest at various locations off campus, this was fun as I was able to shoot at some very cool places. My first location was Yellow Bourbon, a Columbian café, the aesthetics of their café matched perfectly with the brief. Filled with pastel colours, I captured my first set of photos using an analogue camera with B&W film. The results came with a little struggle, colourising all the photos was a little tricky but in the end it worked out really well. However if I was to repeat this, I would ensure that the film was colour and would have made use of a lens filter.
My second location photoshoot was captured in Ladbroke Grove, I used Kodak ColourShot 200 Film which improved the photos. The photos depict spring through both the colours of the model and her hair. One thing that I loved about these photos was the impact colour film made adding a grainy look sharpening the photos, compared to the Ilford HP5 kodak produced greater results. If I was to do again I would add more accessories to my model along with making use of the correct adapter so the analogue camera would be compatible with a remote trigger; this would enable me to use a third party flash.
. The final location where I shot was at Vintage Guru, a vintage shop in Northampton. The photos I captured worked great with the aesthetics of the store. The colours contrasted very well, portraying a wide range of pastel colours along with linking to Levis Strauss with the use of denim. However, one of the photos did not use the correct aperuture reducing the amount of detail picked up.
